First edition of Medieval Animation 2021
This year we implemented something for the first time: for one month (May-June) our volunteers animated the Citadel through parade, games, dance and sword battle demonstration, all in medieval style. The idea came from two of our volunteers, part of the Boomerang 2021 team, who are actually Sighisoara locals. Their names are Florin and Claudia and they helped organise the animation, choreography and created era appropriate clothing. We were happy to receive artistic support from Truverii, a medieval and traditional musical band, as well as support from Sighisoara City Hall who approved our initiative. In Sighisoara, the Medieval Festival that takes place every summer is a tradition that goes back more than two decades, and that was dearly missed in 2020. It brought us great joy to be able to help bring to life the streets of the Citadel. Tourists and locals were able to meet our volunteers on Saturdays, May 15th, 29th, June 5th and 12th. We would like to develop this initiative furthermore in the future together with our volunteers.
