Back in 2018, Alexandra and Florentina built Asociatia AUM with the vision of helping the Sighisoara community grow and develop in order to help our town become even more beautiful than it already was. Since then they have successfully implemented different projects through the European Solidarity Corps with the goal of addressing certain needs and issues faced by the community.

The first virtual space for the volunteers in Transilvania to share their experiences is now online. This initiative is organized together with our partners Centrul de Voluntariat Saschiz (@CEVOSaschiz) and has the purpose of promoting volunteering and solidarity among people by offering a virtual space where all the volunteers from the Transylvania area can share their stories, can talk about their solidarity project, can interact and connect.

Starting with this year we have formed the department of AUM Local Volunteer! Along the years we have been lucky to be surrounded with so many people from Sighişoara who chose to support our activities as volunteers, so we decided to offer the possibility to do this in an official way. This means that we now have a sign up form for the people who wish to contribute in this manner to developing themselves and the community.

Career Peer

In February of this year we started Career Peer, a video series that approaches career orientation from a peer to peer perspective, which was designed to provide additional and relevant information for the Sighişoara's highschool students. Students from different faculties from Romania or outside the country are talking about how they chose their field of study and answering questions related to subjects, housing, exams, and prefessional options. Episodes are published exclusively on our private Facebook Group "ELEV în Sighişoara" every Friday.

2020 in review!

This is how 2020 looked for us in numbers. To these we add all the work that was done for achieving our goals (meetings, brainstorming sessions, ideas discussed, changes of plan, hundreds of hours of research/creating materials/video editing, etc.) and also all the numbers that show the appreciation received from the community (messages, online events attendance, social media likes, followers, views, collaborations and partnerships). In the "countless" category we will file all the beautiful moments and memories we now have together - how many times we laughed, how many times we stepped out of our comfort zone and how many times we felt that what we do truly matters for our community.
